Sponsor logos for text ads: upload, fallback and legibility

A tiny sponsor logo should identify the advertiser without competing with the message. A detailed wordmark that looks attractive on a presentation slide can become an unreadable blur at icon size. Treat the mark and the sponsored sentence as complementary parts of a compact placement.

Design for the actual display size

In the current extension, the mark occupies a small square beside the linked line. Favor a simple symbol or clear initials over a complete slogan. Keep useful content away from the edges so the mark remains recognizable when fitted into its container. Preview it at ordinary browser zoom rather than judging only a large source file.

A transparent background can help a mark fit both light and dark interfaces, but the symbol still needs contrast. A very pale logo may disappear in a light conversation. A dark outline may disappear in a dark one. Review both situations and choose a version that does not rely on a large white surrounding panel.

Know what the upload does

The advertiser form accepts PNG, JPG and WebP source images up to 2 MB, subject to dimension and processed-size limits. The browser prepares a compact PNG, and the server validates and re-encodes it. Arbitrary external image URLs and SVG uploads are not part of this workflow. The purpose is a bounded display asset, not a remote tracking pixel.

Uploading a logo saves it with the campaign request for review. It does not automatically activate an advertisement. Keep a copy of the original in your own brand assets and confirm that the preview shows the intended version before submitting. If processing fails, correct the file instead of repeatedly submitting the same invalid asset.

Use initials when a mark is unnecessary

Without an uploaded image, payidle.com uses initials from the first two words of the sponsor name. “Focus Notes” becomes “FN”; a single-word sponsor uses one initial. This gives small advertisers a recognizable fallback without forcing them to create a separate graphic before testing their message.

A broken image also falls back to initials. Check that the sponsor name is the one visitors should recognize on the destination; a technical company name that differs from the public product name can create confusion. The logo cannot compensate for an unclear sentence or a destination that appears unrelated.

  • Preview the mark at its small final size.
  • Check contrast in both light and dark contexts.
  • Use a permitted image format and keep the file compact.
  • Confirm that initials are acceptable if the image cannot load.
